We closed the month of October 2021 with the shocking news that Mark Zuckerberg would say goodbye to Facebook, at least as the name of his company, and that he no longer wanted to be associated only with the world of social networks when he had so much potential behind.

That’s how the Facebook company was called META, giving a starting signal of the new path that Zuckerberg wanted to take from now on: The metaverse, that digital space that we will all be part of in the not-distant future.

By then, Zuckerberg already projected that the metaverse would reach one billion users once it was launched, which also means a source of billions of dollars by generating jobs for content creators and businesses.

These are the promises Meta has already given us

For now we have only had a taste of what the metaverse is thanks to a few virtual reality video games that allows us to hang out in digital cities, allowing us to perform activities such as walking, shopping, making friends meetings, among others.

But what will META’s metaverse look like? It’s still an enigma and people have their doubts. But Zuckerberg has already thought about this and has decided that he will open physical stores so that people can learn more about what his universe offers.

Between hardware products and metaverse simulators, stores intend to show and teach how the metaverse works, so people would be familiar and would have some basic knowledge before the big launch.

Haptic glove

Among the hardware that Meta will present is a glove capable of making us feel what we do in the digital world. This glove promises to make us feel in great detail to the edge of objects, textures of softness and even vibrations.

It is still in the design phase, but they have already shown a prototype that shows dozens of small moving parts throughout the glove, which will activate our nerve endings by touch in hundreds of combinations that will make us experience the digital world.

VR glasses

Of course, we will not be able to access as it is due to the metaverse without virtual reality glasses, so Meta has already announced four different glasses: Arcata, which will arrive in autumn of this 2022, and Funston, Stinson and Cardiff that will arrive between 2023 and 2024, with rumors of a fifth called Nazare.

Although everything seems to be slowly taking shape for the grand opening of Meta’s metaverse, Zuckerberg will not be seen as easy as he has been practically the target of attacks by investors, scandals and lawsuits for several years.

Meta could soon be going through one of the UK’s hardest antitrust hits, and problems have been reported for the company to hire the employees needed to lift the metaverse.

Only time will tell how much Meta’s metaverse is in danger, but what is certain is that Zuckerberg will not take his finger off the line and will continue to invest heavily for his most dreamed of project.
